It used to haunt me at the start of my training that I would design and make furniture to the best of my ability, to the highest standard I was capable of-then give it away, never to see the work ever again. In fact the opposite turned out to be true, that my work only gains meaning and a valid reason to exist if it finds a home where it can be appreciated whilst serving a useful purpose.
